Kimberley is our newest optometrist who joined our team in 2021. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013 and her experience includes kids’ vision, myopia control, contact lens fitting and regional work. All of these areas encompass what she loves in the wonderful world of optometry. Kimberley is passionate about supplying our patients with all the latest and greatest information on all things vision related. When she is not helping us at The Focal Point Optometrist she is writing nerdy content for Myopia Profile https://www.myopiaprofile.com or working at Royal Perth Hospital. In her free time, she enjoys live music gigs, swing dancing, bouldering and tries very hard to get to the gym.

Bernie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science – Optometry from the Queensland University of Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Education from Edith Cowan University WA and is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists FACBO.   In the early days of her optometry career, Bernie developed an interest working with children with special needs and with children who experience difficulties with their learning. With this passion learning, Bernie completed a Graduate Diploma in Education at Edith Cowan University in 1996 and began teaching middle and upper primary school children in the Pilbara, Western Australia.   Bernie loves to share her passion with others and educate parents, teachers, health care professionals and the wider community that vision is more than just sight. Her community service talks and workshops engage others in understanding how powerful our vision is and how vital it is in allowing us to interact with and learn from our environment.   Bernie is often followed around the practice by our most popular (and laziest) staff member Daisy the Dog.   Bernie has previously held positions as the Vice President and President of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists and currently sits as a Director on the Board of Provision Eyecare which promotes Independent Optometry practices in Australia.   Bernie is a member of the Optometrist Association of Australia (OAA), Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO), Optometric Extension Programme (OEP) and Provision.

We think Daisy might be our most popular staff member! She does have a questionable work ethic, spending much of her day sleeping or demanding tummy rubs. Her favourite thing about working with us is bringing smiles to the faces of nervous or anxious children.


Outside of work she loves being chased around the dining table or playing with other dogs at her local park.

Lindsay is our passionate vision therapist and optical dispenser. Lindsay is a qualified vision therapist with accreditation through the Australian College of Behavioural Optometry (ACBO) as well as the Optometric Extension Foundation (OEPF).

Lindsay's hails from Canada and is a new mum and qualified yoga teacher. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her family, yoga, travel and pursuing her clinical education.

Sue’s role in the practice is reception and admin but she is expanding her optics knowledge with formal classes and on the job training to become an optical assistant.  Sue loves working with the great team at The Focal Point Optometrist and enjoys meeting new people each day at work. As Sue always says, “Strangers are just friends you haven’t yet met!"  

Outside of work Sue enjoys playing netball, reading or spending time with her gorgeous family and friends.  Her weekends are often spent walking along the coast with her dog Eski or watching her children play sport.   When we think of Sue we think of leopard print and the Collingwood football club.
